Reading hadiths is one of the best ways to learn about the life, teachings, and example of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Hadiths are the narrations of his words, deeds, and approvals that were transmitted by his companions and followers. Hadiths complement and explain the Quran, which is the word of Allah revealed to the Prophet. Hadiths also provide guidance and inspiration for Muslims in various aspects of their faith and practice.
There are many benefits of reading hadiths, such as:
Learning hadiths is the duty of every Muslim. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: \\\"Convey from me, even if it is one verse.\\\" (Bukhari) He also said: \\\"May Allah brighten [the face of] a person who hears a hadith from us and then conveys it to others exactly as he heard it.\\\" (Ibn Majah)
Reading hadiths helps to improve one's character and manners. The Prophet (peace be upon him) was sent to perfect good morals, as he said: \\\"I have only been sent to complete good character.\\\" (Al-Adab Al-Mufrad) By reading his hadiths, we can learn how he behaved with Allah, with his family, with his companions, with his enemies, and with all creatures.
Reading hadiths strengthens one's soul and heart. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: \\\"The example of a believer who recites the Quran is that of a citron which smells good and tastes good; And the example of a believer who does not recite the Quran is that of a date which has no smell but tastes sweet; And the example of a hypocrite who recites the Quran is that of an aromatic plant which smells good but tastes bitter; And the example of a hypocrite who does not recite the Quran is that of a colocynth which has no smell and is bitter in taste.\\\" (Bukhari) Reading hadiths along with the Quran can increase one's faith, wisdom, and love for Allah and His Messenger.
Reading hadiths serves as a proof and truth of the Prophet's mission. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: \\\"Do not believe me unless I say something that agrees with the Book of Allah.\\\" (Muslim) He also said: \\\"Whoever lies about me intentionally, let him take his place in Hell.\\\" (Bukhari) Reading hadiths can help us to verify the authenticity and accuracy of what we hear or read about Islam.
Reading hadiths is a source of blessing and reward. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: \\\"Whoever revives a Sunnah of mine that dies out after I am gone, he will have a reward equivalent to that of those among the people who act upon it, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest.\\\" (Ibn Majah) He also said: \\\"Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah will have one hasanah (good deed) for it, and each hasanah will be multiplied by ten. I do not say that Alif-Laam-Meem is a letter; rather Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter and Meem is a letter.\\\" (Tirmidhi)
Therefore, we should make an effort to read hadiths regularly and apply them in our lives. We should also share them with others and encourage them to do the same. By doing so, we will be following the footsteps of the best of creation, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and attaining his intercession on the Day of Judgment. ec8f644aee
